The world is built on kindness.

    Tehillim 89:3

    What is Simcha Club?

Simcha Dov Ber lived with extraordinary kindness and sensitivity. He noticed people. He knew who was struggling before they said so, he knew the names of people most of us walk past, and he'd show up again and again — with a smile, a phone call, a lift.

In the weeks and months after his passing, his family kept hearing the same thing from people they'd never met. He was always giving his friends encouragement and motivating them. He befriended the ones who were left out. He visited the old age home. Things nobody knew about, including them.

He never did any of it because he was asked, or because anyone would find out. He did it because that's who he was.

That's where Simcha Club came from. If small things could do that much for one person, they could do it for a whole community. So we're asking people to take on one act of kindness a month in his memory. It doesn't have to take a lot of time, or money, or effort.

It's about noticing another person — a kind word, a phone call, a small gesture that says: I see you. I care. You matter. You're not alone.

The goal is 1,800 acts of kindness this Elul. Log yours below, tell us what happened, and pass it on to one more person.

When we spread kindness, we bring light into places we'll never see. We lift someone up. We take them from loneliness to joy.

Elul: notice the people you see every day

The people we pass every week are the easiest ones to look straight through. This month is about stopping for them, and going one layer deeper with the people we already know. There's a new theme every Rosh Chodesh, but the idea stays the same all year: one small thing, done on purpose.
